What we do
Curd Brothers opened in 1960, so the classics we look after today were everyday cars when we first worked on them. Cloth covered looms, dynamos, control boxes, positive earth systems and inertia starters are not a mystery here.
We repair and rewire classic cars, rebuild their original starters and dynamos, and supply the electrical parts that are getting harder to find. Whether you want it kept original or quietly upgraded for modern driving, we will do it with care.
Rewiring
Partial repairs or complete new looms, routed and connected like the original.

Rebuilt and set up correctly, or converted to an alternator if you prefer.

Questions we get asked
Do you work on positive earth classic cars?
Yes. Positive earth systems, dynamos and control boxes are part of everyday work for us.
Can you rebuild my original dynamo or starter?
In most cases, yes. Keeping the original part on the car is often better for value and authenticity, and we will tell you honestly if a rebuild is not possible.
Can you fit a new wiring loom?
Yes. We can repair sections of the original loom or fit a complete new one, routed like the original.
Can I buy classic electrical parts from you?
Yes. We supply electrical parts for classic, marine and agricultural vehicles. Call us with what you need.
Can you convert my classic to electronic ignition or an alternator?
Yes, if that is what you want. We can also keep everything original. We will talk you through the options.
