What we do
Batteries are where Curd Brothers started, and they are still the heart of the business. We are an approved Yuasa supplier and keep a large stock of batteries on the shelf at our Tunbridge Wells workshop, so most cars, vans and motorcycles can be sorted while you wait.
Buy your battery from us and we fit it for free. Not sure whether you even need one? Bring the vehicle in for a free battery health check. We test the battery, the charging system and the starter, and tell you straight whether it has years left or is about to let you down.
Free fitting
Every battery bought from us is fitted free, including setting up the stop start and battery management systems on modern cars.
Mobile battery fitting
Car will not start at home or at work? We offer mobile battery fitting, so call us and we can come to you.
Free health check
A proper load test of the battery plus a check of the alternator output and starter draw, with the result explained in plain English.

Do you really fit batteries for free?
Yes. If you buy the battery from Curd Brothers, fitting is free. That includes registering the new battery on cars with battery management systems.
Can you fit a battery at my home or work?
Yes. We offer mobile battery fitting. Call us with your car's make, model and where it is, and we will arrange a time to come to you.
How much does a battery health check cost?
Nothing. Bring the vehicle in during opening hours and we will test the battery and charging system for free and tell you what we find.
How long does fitting take?
Most car batteries take under half an hour once the vehicle is with us. Some modern cars with the battery under a seat or in the boot take a little longer.
Do you supply batteries for boats, motorcycles and tractors?
Yes. As an approved Yuasa supplier we cover cars, vans, lorries, motorcycles, marine, agricultural machinery and plant.
My new battery keeps going flat. Can you help?
Yes. A battery that keeps going flat usually points to a charging fault or a drain somewhere on the car. We test the alternator and trace any drain until we find it.
